Pasal 1 Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2007 adalah “Pintu Gerbang” bagi siapa saja yang ingin memahami sistem perpajakan di Indonesia. Pasal ini memuat terminologi hukum yang menjadi acuan dasar dalam setiap transaksi, pelaporan, dan sengketa perpajakan.

1. Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP)
NPWP bukan sekadar nomor, melainkan identitas resmi yang digunakan sebagai sarana administrasi perpajakan. Berdasarkan Pasal 1 angka 6, setiap WP yang telah memenuhi persyaratan subjektif dan objektif wajib memilikinya.
2. Surat Pemberitahuan (SPT)
SPT adalah instrumen utama dalam sistem self-assessment Indonesia. Terdapat dua jenis utama:
- SPT Masa: Digunakan untuk pelaporan bulanan.
- SPT Tahunan: Digunakan untuk pelaporan kewajiban satu tahun pajak.
